  1. I’ve got such a short attention span that I can’t learn a single song. I just practice scales and chords all day.

  2. Marty! Love your program man, I felt lost with a guitar until I took your online lessons. This is my favorite song of all time thanks so much for putting a video out on it!

  3. Love the lessons u do a great job! Any chance u could do a lesson on Warren Zevon’s Wanted Dead or Alive? Thanks in advance

  4. hey marty could you please do “got to be a lover” as covered by billy idol in this format, perhaps “sweet sixteen” as well, I always have trouble with the up down thingy but this vid is great!

  5. Is that from a movie at the very beginning of the video? A black guy with crazy hands! I haven’t been able to find that in a music video for the song yet.

  6. u do amazing work no lies, but this is no sublime ” what i got”
but u did get the “solo” correct.

  7. Good shit my man, If only my shit were properly tuned! Been out of the guitar game a while and this songs my route back in!

  8. Thanks much for a good lesson. If you could just get a little more treble and presence and less bass in your tone, I think you would really have something there.

  9. That Van Halen sound is a wonder. I once used a light dimmer wired into an extention chord trying to emulate that variac and blow out all the power in the barrics I was living in. Power back to you as well.

  10. in an old guitar world he also said he had his amps custom changed and ran it through a variac to get the sound he got. It was all a lie told just to help his friend get more work in an amp shop. play along with the album, if you think a 1/4 step down is better than 1/2 step….more power to ya.

  11. In a very old Guitar Player magazine Eddie says he tuned down 1/4 step. If you tune down 1/4 step you will notice the difference. Not being critical here just that there are many who study this stuff and I’m just sharing what I learned.

  12. This song i have not yet done and this shall be my blueprint of awsomeness 😀 thanks for the tutorial and subcribed 😀

  13. I can’t really palm mute, I’m using an acoustic, and I can’t afford to lose sound. I also had to add two extra notes to get it to sound right for acoustic, but it still sounds awesome.

  14. @spiffdandy @gr8motive most VH stuff uses delay, reverb, phase, chorus, flanger…in this tune, reverb – delay – touch of chorus – and phase…you can use a flanger, but when using the flange and the phase together, it usually sounds awful. the type of flanger and phase really makes a difference. MXR is the best IMO.
