Lick #24: Robben’s Poorly (Guitar Lesson LK-024)

This is a Robben Ford stylee lick, lots of fun and sounds awesome but is still pentatonic. TAB is on da web site. The sound is the Tele into a Zen Drive Pedal into an old Fender Princeston II very slight delay (mix setting so you can only just hear it) from the MXR Carbon Copy. Full support at the justinguitar web site where you will find hundreds of lessons on a wide range of subjects, and all the scales and chords that you will ever need! There is a great forum too to get help, no matter what the problem. And it is all totally free, no bull. No sample lessons, no memberships. Just tons of great lessons 🙂 To get help with your lesson look up the number at the start of the video title (like ST-666 or whatever) on the Lesson Index page. www.justinguitar.com Have fun .

  1. Loved your jimi hendrix lessons, you should do some thin lizzy lessons :):) (and hopefully some other song than Boys are back in town… cause every guitar ‘teacher’ on the net has done that one :P) i would love to see a ”still in love with you” lesson, awsome justin keep going and thanks a lot!! //From Sweden with Love;)

  2. I dont know what to say, im in a music class now, the semester started yesterday, and im so happy. Its really a lot thanks to you Justin you really are a great teacher, and you help a lot of people out. If i ever get stuck, i don’t know what to do next or how to do it, the tasmanian devil is always there to help.

  3. Great Lesson! It’s really helpful when you break a lick like this and and show the possibilities within!!! Thanks

  4. Justin: On your tone bends, are you muting adjacent strings with your palm, or are the index and middle fingers also typically helping with this task?
Love these tasty licks, all the best.

    Scott

  5. The improvised parts you do in the jam track is such rubbish, I can see through what’s yours and what you stole Justin.

  6. @Themanwe You have no idea what a killer tone is, check out Paul Gilbert’s latest album “Fuzz Universe” THAT is a dreamlike tone, even if you don’t want to agree or not.

  7. @strikermo i know, but i cant hear what he’s playing nor can i watch his finger – he’s too fast…but i WANT to know that “lick”…
