A meet with him got my beard dyed red. And has been that way for 22 years. As a self taught black player,to meet the man he was in the mirror emulating. I’ll just say thi,”Getcha Pull!!!
He is playing over his songs, but it’s like backing tracks. it just has the main riffs, no solos

Sure, there would never be another “like him”, and that´s not necessarily a bad thing. The reason Dimebag was so brilliant was that he was like no one else, he was a TRUE guitarist with integrity and heart. He put originality over everything - as everyone should, but sadly that´s lacking in today´s music industry, let alone the metal industry.
But then God needed some lessons to learn more than what Randy played, so he had to take Dimebag away from us<3

This guy is my main inspiration as a guitarist, Ive been playing for nearly 10 years and just listening to a Pantera track instantly makes me want to play guitar! He seemed like a pretty decent guy too as well as one of the best damn guitarists ever, but yeh for me, Dimebag will always be the best.

Everytime i hear We’ll Meet Again or the solo from Takin My Life i almost cry. His music means more to me than i can explain. Dime will always live on through his music. He will live as long as we blast his music as loud as we fuckin can. RIP Brother Dime. <3
Just glad I got to see Pantera live back in ’96 for the Great Southern Tourkill (Australian Tour). Still got my ticket stub and tour shirt =}

That whole Album reminds me of 92 so much haha
I was 14 in 97 at my buddies house. He hands me this cassette tape, no writing on it, I put it in my walkman, hit play and my ears had never been assaulted so good before in my life. It was Pantera Vulgar Display of Power! I grew up on rock and blues greats and new what good guitar soloing was. Dimebag’s guitar playing was like nothing I had ever heard, EVER! Now that mixed with Vinnie Pauls drumming I was instantly hooked. I played that tape for over and over again until it broke! Still #1!
When he finished that last part of “shredding” I uncontrolably shouted “fuck yeah”. Dimes playing has that effect on people.
